Abdel Himeda
Chairperson - Administrative Adviser
In 1983, Abdel Himeda began his career in hip-hop, motivated by his passion for music and influenced by artists such as James Brown, George Benson, Otis Redding and Michael Jackson. He was one of the pioneers of hip-hop dance in La Roche-sur-Yon alongside Fabrice Priouzeau. His real revelation for this culture came in 1984 when he discovered the programme H.I.P H.O.P on TF1, created and hosted by Sidney. Since this revelation, his commitment to this world has continued to grow. In 1993, he accelerated things by founding the Break Dance Yonnaise association, and in 1996, he created the S’poart company alongside Fabrice and members Mickaël, David, Nicolas, Cédric, Pierre and Thong. Professionally, he served as the company’s administrator from 2001 to 2007, demonstrating his expertise and in-depth knowledge of the cultural milieu. He is no stranger to professionalism and has mastered all aspects of this field.
Laura Araujo
Administrator and treasurer
Laura Araujo grew up in a family of athletes, her father being a professional footballer. Educated in the importance of sporting values such as punctuality, respect for coaches and community life, she began practising sport at a very young age, first exploring ice skating and then baton twirling from the age of 7 to 17. Twirling taught her body coordination, flexibility and attention to detail, with an emphasis on precision of movement. After 10 years of baton twirling, she discovered dance at the Sula Bula Company in 2006, at the age of 17, progressing from intermediate level in 2007 to the present day. She participated in the first creation of the Aniaan company in 2019 and continues to be involved in amateur projects.
Laura has also contributed to the educational project of the S’Poart Company and has travelled throughout New York, Los Angeles and France with various companies, participating in performances and advanced training courses. Since 2022, she has been involved in event organisation. For Laura, dance is an expression of her emotions, influenced by her love of music.
Growing up in a house where music was omnipresent, she considers dance as her means of expressing her emotions. Her versatility in styles (new style, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary), her musical eclecticism, her energy and her presence are her strengths, while her fearfulness in battles and lack of confidence in her dancing are her weaknesses. Dance remains her most faithful love, always there for her.
Antoine caquineau (Tonyo)
Artist and trainer
Antonio Santana began his life in hip-hop culture at a very young age in Dompierre-sur-Yon, influenced by music thanks to Graffiti and Skyrock radio stations in the late 1990s, a time when hip-hop culture was at its peak in France and around the world. At that time, the world of dance and breakdancing was booming, and he was quickly captivated, first by drawing and graffiti, then by dance, discovering this universe through Graff’It magazines. In 2003, during an internship at his local youth centre with Dara from the S’poart Company in La Roche-sur-Yon, he learned his first dance steps, an experience that marked the beginning of a passion that has never left him to this day.
After participating in battles for 10 years, travelling around the region and organising his first local events, the victories began to come thick and fast, opening up new opportunities. His hard work finally paid off, with notable successes at Hip Opsession, in Hip Hop and Toprock, particularly in 2015. He then went on to distinguish himself at Floor Wars in Denmark in 2016, followed by Italy, Switzerland and Spain. His travels multiplied once again, this time to share and pass on his knowledge and experience.
Antonio is sought after as a judge at battles and teaches in schools across the continent. He also continues his involvement in organising events, notably through his first association created in Vendée, L’Art du Mouvement, in collaboration with Florent Boudeau in Les Herbiers. Today, with the Kinnara Company alongside Thong, they continue to use their energy and shared vision to share their experiences and teachings.
